Cursor Agent
AI coding agent that can independently work on complex coding tasks, search codebases and the web, edit files, run commands, test software, and operate locally or through cloud agents.
About Cursor Agent
Cursor Agent is an AI coding agent designed to complete complex software development tasks independently. It combines instructions, tools, and a selected AI model to search codebases, read and edit files, execute terminal commands, search the web, interact with browsers, and work through development tasks.
Developers can use Cursor Agent interactively or run Cloud Agents in isolated virtual machines with cloned repositories, installed dependencies, secrets, startup commands, and network access. Cloud Agents can build and test changed software, interact with browsers and computers, work across multiple repositories, and run multiple agents in parallel without requiring the developer's local machine to remain connected.
Cursor also supports automated agent workflows. Cloud Agents can be started on schedules or from events generated by GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Linear, and webhooks. Developers can programmatically launch and manage Cloud Agents through the Cloud Agents API, while MCP support enables agents to connect with external tools, APIs, databases, and other data sources.
