Vapi
Voice AI platform for building, deploying and managing agents that handle inbound and outbound calls, use tools and APIs, connect to business systems and coordinate multi assistant workflows.
About Vapi
Vapi is a platform for building, deploying and operating AI voice agents. Developers can create assistants, connect them to phone numbers and handle inbound or outbound calls through the dashboard or API.
Vapi agents can use built in tools to transfer calls, end calls, send SMS messages, dial keypad digits and make API requests. Function tools can send tool calls to a developer controlled server, while the Query tool can retrieve information from knowledge bases. Agents can also use client side tools through the Web SDK.
Vapi supports MCP servers, allowing assistants to discover tools dynamically at runtime and execute actions through MCP during calls. Its Squads feature enables multiple specialized assistants to participate in a conversation and hand off between one another while passing context and extracted variables.
The platform also provides monitoring, simulations, evaluations, logs and integrations with business applications. It is designed for developers and teams that need configurable voice agents with programmatic control, external tools and production operations.
Key Features
- Inbound and Outbound Calls: Create voice assistants that answer incoming calls and place outbound calls through connected phone numbers.
- Tool Execution: Agents can transfer calls, send SMS messages, dial keypad digits, call HTTPS APIs, invoke server functions and query knowledge bases.
- MCP Tool Access: Connect assistants to MCP compatible servers and dynamically discover and execute tools during conversations.
- Multi Assistant Squads: Coordinate specialized assistants in a single conversation with configurable handoff conditions and context transfer.
- Business Integrations: Connect agents with Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Slack, GoHighLevel, Make and n8n for actions and workflow automation.
- Testing and Observability: Use simulations, evaluations, monitoring and logs to test and inspect voice agent behavior and production calls.
