About ChaiBuilder
ChaiBuilder is a low code, self hosted visual website builder for React and Next.js. It is delivered as code that runs inside the customer’s application, database and hosting environment. Editors can create and publish pages visually, while developers retain control over components, routes, data and infrastructure.
The product has an open source core called chaicore, which provides the React visual editor, basic website builder, SQLite page storage and page rendering. The commercial chaipro package adds capabilities such as revisions, multilingual content, redirects, roles, media management and advanced AI features.
ChaiBuilder includes custom blocks, design tokens, theming, data binding, conditional visibility, a media manager, preview mode, page revisions and one click publishing. Its public starter combines Next.js, Payload CMS and ChaiBuilder with a browser based setup process.
Published pages use static generation and incremental revalidation. ChaiBuilder stores pages, drafts, settings, assets and plugin data in the customer’s database. Media can remain in customer controlled object storage, while integrations with AI, email and stock image services use credentials configured by the customer.
